Club Meetings or Events of Interest

Whilst club meetings are organised primarily for club members; anyone that's interested whether ex-members, anyone thinking of buying a Matra,
or anyone wishing to join the club, will always be made very welcome. Simply turn up (meetings usually start around mid-day) and introduce yourself.
Meetings:
- April 2010 Sunday 11th. Spring midland meeting.
Maintenance meeting at Waveney Pumps, as last year.
- May 2010 Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th. Simca Matra Talbot 2 year international.
Bastogne in the Ardenne region, Belgium. Make a date for this event now.
- May 2010 Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th. Southern summer week-end meeting.

- June 2010 Sunday 6th. Simca UK 'maintenance' meeting.
Stuart Wade and Guy Maylam invite you to The Orchard, Broughton Monchelsea, Maidstone. ME17 4HS
where you can display your car, bring spares to sell or swap, and they have a pit if you wish to check you car.
- June 2010 Sunday 27th. Simca UK annual meeting at the Hayes Museum, Sparkford.
Matra Enthusiasts Club members are invited to join the Simca Club UK members at their meetings.
There will be a display of cars in front of the museum, and we have use of the test track from 10 am to 1 pm
- July 2010 Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th. Goodwood Festival of Speed.
A terrific meeting that has become one of the Motor Sport fixtures not to miss.
- July 2010 Friday 9th to Sunday 11th. Classic Le Mans.
Also a biennial event, this fabulous meeting is worth attending especially if you have not been before.
- August 2010 Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th. Northern summer week-end meeting.
To be held in the border town of Berwick. Sunday we will visit Holy Island/Linisfarne.
- September 2010 Friday 17th to Sunday 19th. Goodwood Revival meeting.
This is a superb old car race meeting with great side attractions too. Check the Goodwood website.
- October 2010 Sunday 3rd. Autumn midland meeting. A maintenance meeting at the Wobbly Wheel
pub near Gaydon on the B4100. Exit M40 at junction 12 and head west. Turn left at the roundabout and
head south. The Wobbly Wheel is approx. 7 km from the roundabout. Various parts available for sale.

3 day Classic Car Show at the N.E.C. Birmingham. Book early for discount tickets.
- December 2010 Sunday 5th. Winter southern meeting. For a map click here.
The Grasshopper Inn, a few kilometres west of Westerham on the A25 and approx. 6 km east from
junction 6 of the M25. From the junction go south on the A22 to the first roundabout and turn left.
We may have use of the Gallery. There is plenty of car parking space for car groups to display together.
The Inn serves hot or cold food and drinks, and the warm interior is ideal on a cold winters day.

Winter northern meeting. The meeting starts as usual from around 10.30 am onwards.

Accurate Models
Now available (mostly on eBay) new models of the Bagheera 1 & 2, Rancho, Murena and Espace 1 Ph2.
These are all 1/43rd scale diecasts, made in China and labelled IXO, and they are extremely well detailed.
Also reportedly available now are 1/43rd scale models of the Matra M25 and the Bagheera U8!
